Curriculum | Prachya Bharati Senior Secondary School (Class I–XII)

Our Curriculum

The designing of a school curriculum requires a clear vision. At Prachya Bharati Senior Secondary School, we evaluate and improve our curriculum year after year. The school follows the curriculum prescribed by the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) up to Class X and the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) for Classes XI & XII. The medium of instruction is English.

Teaching & Learning at Prachya Bharati

Class I to V (PRIMARY SECTION)

Students of Class I to V are introduced to a broad foundation of subjects.
Environmental Studies (EVS) is taught up to Class III, after which General Science is introduced from Class IV onwards.

Class XI & XII (SENIOR SECONDARY SECTION)

Core subjects for all streams:

  • Alternative English / Modern Indian Language (MIL): Assamese
  • Environmental Education (HS First Year only)
Science Stream Curriculum (Class XI–XII)

Students may choose between Mathematics and Biology as their primary elective focus. A second elective skill subject is chosen from Entrepreneurship Development or Artificial Intelligence.

  • Compulsory: Physics, Chemistry
  • Group A (Choose One): Mathematics / Biology
  • Group B (Choose One): Entrepreneurship Development / Artificial Intelligence (AI)

⚠️ Important: Students selecting Biology must choose Entrepreneurship Development.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) may be opted only if Mathematics is selected.
✅ Students may also opt for both Mathematics and Biology (PCMB) if desired.

🎓 From Academic Session 2026–27, Psychology has been introduced under the Arts Stream (XI–XII), now offered alongside Logic & Philosophy and Economics as Group A subject options. Sociology has also been added as a compulsory core subject — opening pathways in Mental Health, Civil Services, HR, Education, Social Research, Behavioral Sciences and more.
Arts Stream Curriculum (Class XI–XII)

Students must select one subject from Group A and one from Group B, along with Sociology (Compulsory) and one Vocational Subject. English and MIL/Alt English are mandatory.

  • Group B (Choose One): Political Science / Entrepreneurship Development
  • Group C (Compulsory): Sociology
  • Vocational Subject (Choose One): Artificial Intelligence / Textile Designing / Accountancy & Auditing
